Sometimes it is hard for the younger scouts to look forward to what happens as you progress through scouting because they just do not know.

Yesterday despite a bunch of weenie troops and packs cancelling camp outs the Webelos I's braved the elements.  Not one complained about cold due to appropriate layering.  They completed the outdoorsman pin.

I will admit we got lucky with wind.

On a 3 mile hike we saw various scat, coyote prints, turkey scratches, deer rubs, clams, bald eagle soaring, talked ice safety then broke rocks through ice, hiking/weather safety and preparation, and leave no trace.

We warmed up by a fire and made smores.  The boys grilled their own supper inside the cabin, then we watched a movie.  Didn't hear one kid complain.  Fun times.

Boys in Attendance: Henry S, Kenneth S, Logan L, Ryan N, & Dawson F.

Thanks to Dana and Hans for the photos!
