2012 Fall Campout

posted Oct 22, 2012, 5:02 PM by Pack Forty
A huge thank you to everyone who was able to attend the fall camp out this weekend. A quick count was close to 90 people participating on Saturday. I would have to say that this was the best one yet for me personally (I have only been to 3 though). The participation and help from the families made everything flow as smoothly as possible with Hans and myself trying to plan it. Than goes for everyone who helped with the activities, tables and chairs, food preparation, clean up, chapel, etc. It seemed like people were stepping in or asking to help the entire weekend and Hans, I , and the other leaders definitely appreciated it. A special thank you to Mark and Mary Jo Hammonds for the jambalaya and the Barn's family for the meat. If you went away hungry it was your own fault. If that wasn't enough Joe Jiacinto provided us with a special dutch oven chilli. I would also like to thank everyone who helped with the conservation project as well as those who helped clean up around the campsite. The Camp Master complimented us on what an excellent job we did and wished other packs as well as Boy Scout Troops showed as much concern over how you leave a site. A simple rule of thumb for Pack 40 is we want to leave an area better than we find it.

Hans has the lost and found for items at his house with the exception of a blue Columbia jacket that is at my house and will be brought to Hans' house tomorrow. I believe the weather is to cooperate for 1 more day.

Once again, thank you to everyone and I hope you and your son and or family enjoyed your time at Camp Waubeek. As always any suggestions on things that you think would be fun or ways to keep the boys having fun are appreciated.
